From PETA in an email, instead of emailing folks, I’d thought I’d post it here knowing some of you folks would be kind enough to sign (plus PETA only gave me 10 spaces… I have potentially 1500 people who could sign.)
Did you know that The Queen’s Guards’ ceremonial caps are made from real bearskin? Bears who are killed for their hides suffer tremendously. They are either shot during hunts or ensnared, sometimes for days, in painful traps. During hunts, as many as one bear in seven does not die immediately after being shot, and some escape wounded – only to die later from blood loss or starvation. In some Canadian provinces, there are no restrictions on the shooting of mother bears who have nursing cubs, which leads to the slaughter of entire families during hunts.

I get that using bear fur is a tradition in the UK, but with the improvements on the Green and Eco movements world wide, it would make sense to make a few changes in uniform and fashion. Please show some support!
